lift 2wd 88

i just got my license and got my dads old 88 2wd. i live in colorado and get quite a bit of snow. but i didnt know if it would be worth the money to lift a 2wd truck. btw its a 2.9l 5 speed

p.s. I have always laughed when I have seen a lifted 2x4...but thats just me. course, I also laugh at hondas with heated/cut springs and a 24" tall aluminum wing. I am sure to someone it looks good...

You guys are forgetting the hardest part of turning a Ranger into a 4x4 - the engine crossmember needs swapped out to do it.



I'd say it's up to personal preference as to if you lift it or not. A 2" lift could be done for cheap and you could lock the rear axle and get bigger/better tires. A good set of chains and knowing when and how to use them can be a huge help in the winter at times.

You'll have to watch your gear ratio, but with a very minor fender trim you can put up to 31" tires with a 2" suspension lift.

I've had 2wd's most of my life, and would rather have them. I like high speed powerline runs..... I have been known for 95-100 mph powerline road runs, but please don't do this without taking proper precautions, and safety measures... please but congrats

only if i had he money to buy this from you guys i would do it in a heart beat ans i would probably do a 4" with 33 if anything or i just get a newer one that is already 4x4

2" lift is super easy on a 2WD. I grabbed some 2WD F-150 coil spacers from the local JY, and some stock 4WD blocks for the rear. I also threw in some heavier springs from a 4x4 to level it out, so it went up about 3" up front. All you need after is an alignment and some new u-bolts.

where should i get the lift i only see 1.5 " level not actual lifts
