Lets talk about pumps for a bit (hydro assist/Standard box)

i did it myself. strictly for field fixing. two stock hoses are easy to find...

just made double flares....of course one line is a bit bigger then the other:annoyed: but it works.....just not pretty.

on a pretty truck i would have some made....

I'm not to worried about pretty, I just don't want the damn thing to leak :icon_thumby:

Well for what its worth, the new steering setup I have with the 60 actually works rather well. But it could be better.

For most of the day on Saturday (went down to Washita) the steering wasn't too bad, and there were only a few times where I could have used a little more 'umph'. I'm pretty sure a higher pressure box would get me where I wanted to be.

However, there were several times where I had the steering wheel ripped out of my hand (even at crawl speeds). That make me think that hydro assist is going to happen in the near future. Plus, it would be nice to have the full range of steering when offroad again (with the track bar disco'd, the steering suffers).

Did you do it yourself, or have a shop make you up another High Pressure line?

Steel braided high pressure line is the way to go if you can do it.

Dunno what a truck runs for pressure, but my tractor pump runs 3500psi as I bump across the field carrying a 1000lb+ hay bale through two hoses that are going on 20 years old and are exposed to the elements.
