lets see your welding helmets

took me a while to find a pic of it, theres getting to be too many pages in my build thread! its a basic black auto darkening Hobart Hood with shade and sensitivity adjustments. battery life is pretty good (used 1 battery for 2 - 40lb spools worth of welding) and the hood is light weight.

pay no attention to all the empty budlight, it steadys my hand!

heres another "steady" shot that i took before working on my truck the other day

i like the gold lenses, but i can only use them in my lincoln hood, and since i own an auto darkener it rarely sees use other than by friends who want to watch.

I have one in my TIG helmet, great for welding Stainless, shows the color really well.

thats probably how i picked up my gold lens, i sometimes had to help out in the "top shop" where out certified welders worked. they were the ones who did all of the aluminum and stainless jobs so i must have needed a lens while i was up there and just grabbed the shiniest one i could find in the bin.

Good choice. I suggest keeping a spare set of batteries in your toolbox.

I've got the Blue Rage Miller Performance series helmet. Got it pretty cheap through school and it has taken a hell of a beating and it still works fine. Great adjustability as well. :icon_thumby:
