I know a couple people have talked about doing this but it never was attempted. So I figured I'd try my hand at it. I know I need to get a piece of metal to fill in where the old one was but how would I get it to stay in place? Do I weld it in place? Or do I use screws? Just trying to get my plan straight before I go out in the shop to do something and totally screw up due to lack of preparation.

This was just posted last month. Do a search on it in the Search area and read what the guy did. You can PM him as well fro more info. I have seen some led tail lights on Ebay for a good price. Check there as well. Remember, if you do a crappy job it will look crappy and you might get pulled over by John E. Law.....

I looked and couldn't find it. I saw threads about putting LED's in the original tail light housing, I want to remove that completely and use the trailer lights themselves.

Get taillight fillers and install your led lights into that. To make it look nice, I'd weld it in.

How would I get the lights out if they quit working? Where would I get the tailight fillers?Ebay i'm guessing???

Give me rep power, Bro!! I had to help you out....lol

Depends on the kind of light. Is it those that mount flush with the surface?

Grant Kustoms is a good place to find taillight fillers. They make fillers for just about every truck ever sold in the U.S. Otherwise you can check ebay or websites that sell lowrider stuff. Hell, while you are on Grant Kustoms website, look at their Bi-Color Led strips. They look really interesting.

Those would be pretty sweet to have though. But Idk about on a 4x4 plus it'll go with the headache rack lights.,and give the truck alittle individuality.
