leaking gas tank

my tank has a leak in it and i can only fill my tank halfway up. ive heard somewhere that this is has happened to other rangers as well and was wanting to know if thats true.

I have a plastic tank so I don't have that problem, but from reading the posts it appears that salt and moisture get between the tanks straps and the tank and that's where they rust out.

A '93 should be a plastic tank. And yeah, they can split and leak. I've fixed mine with epoxy, and it held for about 2 years. This time I'm just going to replace it, with boner donor or a new one if I can find a good deal.

it is a plastic tank. i was just curious to see if anyone else has had the same problem. figured this would be the best place to ask!
