Laredo Build (I Know It's Not an RBV But I Know A Few People Are Going To Follow

Sorry Alaskan,

The 44 is goin into my Ranger. I was planning on selling it but I have it, so WHY NOT?

thats cool, figured i would ask, but that is a nice build u got going on, your in aurora arent you? might have to stop by sometime when im visiting the grandparents and check it out, but if your gonna hit any of the trails up let me know, i would love to learn where some of them are down there

Hit me up on TRS before ya come down. I'll make sure I can arrange to wheel. Maybe get Crawlin and PaleBlue and Oatmeal man to tag along

yeah right know i just got my 2wd f150 to wheel, but here at 9am(when auto hobby shop opens) im gonna go work on my 302 in my bronco II, hopefully this well be the day i here my bronco breathe life again after basically march of 07 when i parked her, and went to basic in may of 07, finally got time, and settle down again to start working on her, so been getting alot done, so if i get her running and right, finally get to start a suspension build(probably in winter)

Today: I re-centered the axle (It moved about 4 inches to the right due to the lack of trac bar at the moment.

The Heep came from the factory with these retarded as hell, cock shaped coil "buckets"

The coil sat around the "perch" and there was a bump stop at the end of it. It was angled a tad bit forward for the jeep's original suspension.

I still have my coil buckets/shock mounts/ trac bar and shock mount from my 79 bronco (parts donor)

So today I spent 50 bucks on grinder wheels to hack all that shit out so I could bolt/weld up the coil buckets in the correct placement.

It wasn't a big task, just a time/beer/cigarette consumer. Tomorrow I'll grind out the rest of the shit, and get the coil buckets etc. mounted.

As far as brakes go: Hard lines run on each side and are fixed to the chassis, then it leads to rubber lines. I'm lookin into factory softlines for a full size dodge, because they use the same banjo fittings and should have shit tons of length.

The rear driver side leaf springs bow out a little because of a crooked leaf spring perch, so that has to be grinded off and replaced.

I still need to find the u-bolt retainer plates in a junk yard, these are very "ghetto fab"

I have an AW4 tranny in my garage awaiting a swap. The tranny cooler lines are punctured so the current tranny is bone dry. I'm going to replace the lines in hope that that was just the issue from the get go. (I didn't know a ton about the ZJ before I bought it)

I'm shootin to be done in the end of Sept.

The buckets are tacked in place, on needs be be "adjusted" with the grinder to fit flush against the chassis.

There was enough offset to make up for the coils bowing out. They look perfect.

Now it's down to:

drag link
track bar
Track bar mount
Front drive shaft (Have donor out of an 83 bronco that needs shortening)
Tranny cooler lines
Rear leaf perch adjusted

and then a cage, cause I will put this bitch on her back

Today mitch welded up my coil buckets. I was in the hospital yesterday for a cornea burn so I wasn't much help.

I lost the upper coil retainers so that's on the list of shit to buy.

It's gettin there.

I'm aiming at the end of the month.

Then it's sliders, cage, roof rack, and a SUPER CHARGER

you jackass adam. dont look at the light! your like a bug and a bug zapper..........

Finally some progress!

How do they treat cornea burn at the hospital? Put burn ointmetn on it or something?

If pro is the opposite of con, then i guess progress is the oposite of congress.... Horray! Yes, progress. It's nice.

They first numbed my eyes, and that felt like an orgasm to the eyes at the time. Then they put a few drops in that made my eyes glow under a black light to check for cuts to the eye itself. Then they gave me this pain in the ass cream that I have to splooge onto my bottom eye lid then blink a lot. That shit's worse then the burn itself. After two days my eyes are feelin good as new again.

Yeah yeah, I know. I wear a condom. Can't pass these genes on

let me kno if u need my help since ur hurt

I'm aiming to have this moving by Sunday, so if it comes down to it I'll hit you up. It's just onto the little things now. But I'll surely hit you up to wheel this shit on it's first run. I'll need help fixing shit on the trail!

The plan is to repas all the major welds with a 220v down at Mitch's work. Overkill is what we aim for.
