Kroussin 93 Explorer build

keep going back to slo-vo's chop top build thread.agh...

however just found this locally for sale. would definately wait awhile to let it come down in price. they want 600$ right now but it's been sitting in tall grass for about a year so likely has some rust issues underneath. 4wd doesnt work but i dont care much since i'm only after the body. says it has auto hubs that probably just need to be cleaned since they stoped working when they got stuck in a snow bank hahaha. rear windows broken hope that weather hasnt intruded too much however it has snowed since the picture so who know's. they also have it listed as a 94 so details probably not known. maybe if I showed up they would just give me the truck since they dont seem to know much about it. wishfull thinking. add part is ive had my eye on this truck all summer and it finally turned up

you not into the mall crawler room anymore??

i love the room for haulin stuff up to camp and what not. but I'm completely over throwing muddy staps back into the inside, thinking if I go chop top i'm gonna keep the spare tire carrier and just have it flip further into the truck just seems like alot less work to swap an extended cab on

and nothing better than totting a few chainsaws to and from camp that all weep bar oil.makes for quite the mess. add gas cans, clothes, propane, firearms and you need way more room than an extended cab can offer. hard to believe we used to take 2-3 vehicles up about every time.

Might want to scoop that up soon if your serious if its still around in a few weeks its gonna be mines...lol That bed looks easier to salvage then mine.

den is about 1/2 mile away in our area and no one else hunts up here so he should be around for a few years until we decide otherwise

be intrested in possiably going in on it with ya. posting says it has a 4.0
with an auto, i'm pretty sure i have a few m5od's and a couple 1354e's

I gutted the rear section behind the seats, and used spray on bed liner to coat the floor. Its basically a 3-4 ft truck bed with a drain hole in the bottom. I still have carpet and leather in all the seats and the passenger area, just the rear section of the ex is basically a truck bed with a camper on it.

all I want is the body and ide trade ya boxes. and possiably the rear driveshaft.

carpets are all yanked but still get trashed and then the need of washing out, i have rubbr laid down the same as you would find in a service van

So I pulled the truck in the garage tonight to get it prepped for wheelin on sunday. going thru inspecting and greasing (or replacing where needed)front wheel bearings, brakes, radius arm flex joints, steering, drive shafts, and doing a general nut and bolt check.

Well long story short when i went to pull it in the garage has to swap rollers on the rear and found my rear passanger wheel FAWKED, 3 lugs snaped off and 2 somewhat loose. I just retorqued these last week and all seemed tight. upon removing the other wheel inspected closer and it looks as tho the holes are slighty larger not 5/8 by any means but definately larger than all the other sets I have. so now i'm going to swap all 4 tires onto a different set of wheels. question arises that i have the option of running them on a 10 wide or 12 wide. manufacturer recomends running a 9-11 wide and i know by running a wider wheel i run the risk of rolling a bead if aired down. howeve i dont typically go low enough in the summer to have that happen. from the pics ive seen with people running them on 12 wides the contact patch is sugnificantly larger which I like.
WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK??? 10 or 12 wide?

well I mounted 1 up on a 12 wide and it definately increases the contact patch but not enough to justify running them all on 12's and running a greater risk of pulling a tire off the bead, not to mention the effort to get the bead to seat. definately dont want to fight with several more

well I dug out an old set of 10 wides unfortunately they were all different colors (even tho same style) so I dug thu the cabinet of paint and chose the paint i had more than two rattle cans of. so the choice was either brown, flat white, or royal blue.

All I have to say is DAYUM Mr. Ford would be proud of this spray bomb color. have to see once I get tires on but i highly suspect it will be a short lived unitl time comes to do somthing else
