Key Have Chip ?

You should be able to program the key yourself. I believe the procedure is in the owners guide.

i really hate that feature, it should be optional or be able to be turned off, theres way too much crap like this these days that isnt nessesary and only makes for problems. theres got to be some way to bypass it. for now my junk is old enough to not be affected. there starting to force us into automatic transmisions in full size trucks now, whats next?

PATS Passive Anti Theft System. Ford calls it Securi-Lock. It's actually a great anti-theft device. One way around it is to do what they do for aftermarket remote start systems, Remove the chip and tape it under the dash so it registers with the reciever module. I guess you could cut off the key head and mount the plastic sender under dash in close proximity to the reciever also. But really, it is a great anti theft device.

You CANNOT program a key yourself UNLESS you already have 2 keys programmed, with one key you need a dealership or locksmith.

i have a chip that i can plug in or take out . its a special safety device. even if the keys are in the ignition and everything if this chip is not pluged into the holder in my dash the truck will not start. it says....auto lock on the card...its cool as shat
