K5ranger

:D And you think youy'll have better luck with a 30 year old drivetrain from a Chebby ? :icon_rofl:

Sounds like you should go buy a $500 beater ranger or toyota and just drive that. If you think swapping all that garbage over is going to be easy, cheap, or produce a better vehicle than you already have (no matter how crappy your current vehicle may be), you've either never tried anything of the sort or you are out of your mind.

it would produce a better truck being atleast half ton for now and wether is 20 or 30 years old only means that it was built better and doesnt have all the electric bs. trucks are not made like they used to. and no it wouldnt be a hard swap, its not garbage its a very good running and solid truck. if anything is garbage its the beater your talking about. the ranger has been a good truck though for what it is when it was working right. but for me and what i do, i think the swap if i do do it will be a smart choice and hold up better than the little ranger.

well then, in that case, i'll leave it up to you to learn the hard way. if you are under the illusion that 30 year old truck parts are far superior to modern vehicles, nothing i can say will sway you. easier to work with, yes. better... not by any stretch of the imagination. carry on.

Well said, let him learn the hard way. He'll have TWO trucks up on blocks in the yard before he's done.:icon_rofl:

The prudent way would be for him to learn how to fix the Ranger himself, but he's shown that he lacks this sense.

Just so you know, going from an 8.8 to a ten bolt is a massive downgrade in strength. A ten bolt is on par with the 7.5

I forgot the ring gear size on the d35 but I'd guess the ten bolt front might be on par with it or a lil stronger... it's basically a weaker d44 so I'd say on par with the d35.

If your ranger is that bad of a lemon, fix it long enough to trade it in on something reliable or get rid of it.

well in that case sense you all are bashing older trucks why do both of you guys still own these beaters since they are so old and weak???:icon_confused: carry on.....

because mine doesn't sit on blocks and don't have to make any payments.

:D All my vehicles are ready and fully capable of being driven anywhere, anytime. :thefinger::icon_thumby: Nothing on blocks in my yard. :tease:

nothing i own sits on blocks where did that even come from. the ranger.. is drive"able".. the blazer is.. "ready and fully capable of being driven anywhere, anytime. you both are doush bags so get off my thread since nether of you have a clue what is going on before since yall like blocks so much one just might end up through your windshield... goodbye:thefinger:

so now i have a broke down ranger behind back that wont run because of map sensor and wont drive because tranny and 2 flat tires that im paying $400 a month for............................ i havent drove it in over a year.

Meh, it's about the same.

:icon_idea:

Just fix the ranger, man. It would not be that hard. Just get a low mile tranny from the wrecking yard or convert to manual. It'll be a lot cheaper, easier, and yield better results. Or like pete said, if you gotta stick a whole different drivetrain in it, go with explorer stuff, since it's not as old and actually fits nicely in a ranger.

ok well i messed with the ranger this morning and hooked the computer up. it was throwing 7 codes... all the transmission. it said something about the torque converter, shift selenoids a b c and d, and something else:shok: so i aired up the tires and drove it down to my buddies shop and just told him to look at it. its so weird, revs up fine in N but when i go to D or R it just boggs down but moves slowly.. low range was alittle better for driving. AND i have made my mind up i got the title now for the blazer and just going to get it painted and new tires, take the top off and ride out.

this ranger is not reliable.. i have gotten the transmission rebuilt 4 times from 1 person and 3 times from a "certified" transmission shop. they cant figure it out and will not refund any of my money back. so now i have a broke down ranger behind back that wont run because of map sensor and wont drive because tranny and 2 flat tires that im paying $400 a month for............................ i havent drove it in over a year.

Your Ranger is not reliable ? That's the same thing as not being drivable in my book. :thefinger: And the fact that you stated that you have not driven it for a year, proves that point.:icon_rofl:

awww baddad your hurting my feelings..... SHUTUP. you are so aggrivating. i am on here to talk about trucks and shit not argue with immature mother****ers who want to keep quoting my shit. iiight peace:flipoff::flipoff::flipoff:

now back to the thread before i was interrupted.. any ideas ranger guys?? :icon_hornsup:
