just "venting"

well said eddie!

some of these comments are pretty harsh i mean he replased the cap and the the tank cost more than that any day. Problem solved

P.S i can see why her ignorance about the whole situation would piss you off.

To be honest, non OEM gas caps can cause venting issues. I've seen many CEL's caused by a non OEM, or untightened caps allowing pressure to vent out of the tank. So using the Hellas compared to inferior lights is valid vs OEM to non OEM gas caps.

As an afterthought, if she is happy to just have a cap, then no skin off your back. :D

I can't believe you guys are really arguing about this...

On another hand, I can't believe the OP forgot the gas cap. I've been driving for 9 years. That's not counting the 2 years before that that I spent pumping my mom's gas for her because I was about to start driving... It's your fault you lost the cap. You borrow someone's car, you bring it back in the same condition you took it in. You replace what's broken/lost and be done with it. Can't do that? Don't borrow other people's shit.

Ehh, no matter the cost, the car should be returned in the same condition.

If my mom broke the front bumper on the truck (we'll say its all factory), i would expect her to replace it with an OEM bumper. How she got it i don't care, but it should be in the same condition as when i lent it to her.

Shit happens. :D don't act like you've never made a stupid mistake before, c'mon now! :icon_rofl:

Surprised that the missing cap didn't cause some kind of EVAP code as soon as you started it up, but not real sure how Honda does it. My '02 van will pitch a *itch if the gas cap is not fully sealed. Know a lot of later vehicles are like that.

Hey it's a car site. The arguing is predictable. The amazing thing is that the thread was even started in the first place.
lol right?

Maybe the mistake wouldn't seem so stupid if he just owned up to what he did and got over it. :icon_idea:
