just thinking ahead

put a piston and rod in it you rob out of the junkyard with spec bearings and see how far it goes.:D

have a spare engine ready...they usually run 2-600 bux for pullouts.

m5od usually cost more then a engine here.

I have tentatively found an engine for to replace this one. It is out of a 92 Explorer automatic.
I should be able to just drop this engine into my 93 Ranger and go right?

well apparently the engine has only 70,000km. the previous owner took it into a ford dealer to get something done on it and the dealership screwed up, they ended up replacing it with a ford 4.0L 90TM casting "crate motor." So I pulled it and am just cleaning it up a bit before I throw it in the truck.

Now way in hell witout the whole recip getting fully gone through and a master rebuild would by far exceed the price of a JY engine. I bet several rods are effed, the bearing on the show stopper has a flat spot and a very likely crankshaft fail. Scrap it OP and move one unless you have the skills, tools/machines and your time is not an issue. Not dissin ya Bobby!

Yeah there was no way in hell I was going to "rebuild" it. Lol. I was thinking about getting a 5.0l and doing that swap but I don't have that kind of money so I bought to JY motor with 70,000km and will be putting it in the truck once I get it all cleaned up and replace some of the gaskets that are prone to leaking.
