Since My Original Just Showing Off thread is nowhere to be found, I am compelled to repost it.

First. 93 Ranger Regular cabs have no room so we need to make use of all the room that we do have.

First we make use of all the space behind the seats.

the amps are older Kenwood models that have been powder coated to better match the overall theme. Now for anyone who thinks the cover is hiding a mess please think again

Now I still need one more amp and I am running out of room. The Kick panel looks like a great place for an amp so I put one there

The amp in the Kick panel is use ti Tri-Mode and powers both the tweeters and the Centerchannel Speaker

Its hard to see but its under the ashtray

Opps, I forgot, I dont have an ashtray, I quit smoking 14-years ago so I had no need for an ashtray.

So I put a DVD player in its place. But sometimes we need to see the local news and weather when we are parked. I felt that there was no need for rear speakers so I placed a Fahrenheit TV Tuner in the right rear Speaker Hole.

What good is TV or DVD with out monitors

My Ranger is equipped with two. The overhead console was borrowed from a wrecked Explorer and was necessary as I needed a place to put my Ipod

The Ipod is interfaced with the Kenwood Radio. In other words I have control over the ipod using the radios controls.

I want to mention that I am a picky installer, please note the factory Ford connector on the Polk Audio DX series speaker

and the factory connector on the new speaker wires

Also notice the baffles. These baffles were found in an 89 T-Bird in one of the local wrecking yards.

And the ashtray thing is something I'm cosidering changing. DVD Players are getting old, and I have a better idea. Why not use a Video Ipod? A cable is available from Monster Cable that will give me a left and right audio out and a Video out. Programs that convert DVD to Ipod is available from Slysoft.com. (I use some of their programs, great company).

Havent worked out all the problems, I still need to keep the Ipod charged. Mounting is not a problem and intergrating it into my system is not a problem.

But the charging thing

i thought you could get a "cradle" that charges the ipod and sends audio output to wherever you wanted. you could cainbalize it for the charger and jack and use your own wiring for the a/v portion.

bummer that the best you can do with the ipod is stereo though...isnt your dvd player surround-sound capable?

Not it is not.I do not have surround sound

I need an Ipod connector with most of the wires in it. Here is what I've found out so far.

Ipod Pin Out
1-Ground
2-Video and Audio Common
3-Audio Out (Left)
4-Audio Out (Right)
5-Audio In (right)(yes we can use the Ipod to record Audio)
6-Audio in (left)(great for when we get pulled over by a rude cop)

8-Composite Video Out
9-S-Video (chrominance)
10-S-Video ( Luminance)

15-Ground

We have power on pins 18 (3.3-volts), 19&20 (12 volts Firewire only I think) and 5 volts on 23 (USB only I think)

Pin 21 is the product ID pin. The Ipod behaves differently Depending on the resistance to ground. This is how it identifies what its hooked to.

A little more research and I might be able to pull this off.

i had no idea the ipod would adapt itself like that. i figured there would just be a pin for hot and a pin for ground and thatd be it.

Both my screens are Mobile TV, and they were installed around 8 years ago. The better screens today are from Accele Vision. A little pricey, but they will last longer than a couple of months (typical for cheaper brands)
