im running the stock 3:45s right now but im going to swap them for 3:27s soon. i find in overdrive im turning more rpms than needed since my engine is very torquey

its my uncles 88 325. its a major pos. no options at all.

so. havent done anything on the truck. just ordered some new speakers for it. my old ones are blown.

oh and i sold the pt loser so im using this as my daily driver right now.

replaced both rear wheel cylinders and the rear shoes. they were toast. brakes much better now.

i gotta put it on my lift and do the front shocks and bushings.

and im deciding whether to leave the exhaust lightning style or run em out the back.

but thats it for now.

Hmm that 8.8 I gave ya looks pretty good there buddy! we must obliterate the 7.5 when you're ready to swap...I'm thinking a burnout with my '31s on the rear :headbang:

S'up B.W........I put a set of 2.94(?) in the '36. Now the rpms are too low at 60mph in overdrive(1,900 rpm).....that's causing the engine to pull only 14 pounds of vacuum (it should be pulling 18 to 20 pounds for good gas mileage).

I'm going to leave the new gears in it, but now I realize I should have put 3.18(?) gears in it to get the vacuum right. I'll just go to a smaller diameter tire to get the rpm's where they should be(right now, it's got 225/70R/15 street tires on it--that's the max. 27" diameter it will take because of the small wheel openings on the front fenders)

So 3:24 might be perfect for your truck!!

EDIT: the OEM 3:43 gears would spin the tires when the 700R4 shifted into 2nd gear......not anymore with the 2:94's....

sup DEEGEE

i have the stock 3.45 gears and i can spin em clear to 3rd.

i have a 3.27 8.8 rear that will make its way under the ranger by fall.

i have 225/70/14s on my truck all the way around. im going to install a tach today or tomoro to see what rpms im turning at speed.

and i dont have the vac. hooked up to the xmsn lockup. i just hooked up a toggle switch

ok. so i got bored of the lightning style exhaust. and everyone at cars shows saying "ooo its a mini lightning. isnt that cute"

so i put the pipes straight out the back. in your face.

my god. i didnt know this little truck could sound so beastly. sounds sooooo much healthier. it almost crackles when you rev it. god i love my flowmasters.

pics will be up later when its all done.

im also gona pick up a new quadrajet carb for it since im daily driving it. im gona swap out the 195 stat for a 180. and change the clacking fuel pump

and not that it really matters. but i put my system from my pt loser in here.

so its got a panasonic top of the line headunit. memphis 6x9 speakers in the door and 4'' in the dash. and a RE AUDIO 400 watt amp. this thing ROCKS.

so i have a sad update. poor blackwidow got broken into

they broke my vent window. stole all my speakers. ripped my amp out. tried to pry the stereo out and cracked my dash. so they only took the faceplate.

went under the hood. cut my belts. slashed my heater hoses. stole my air cleaner. and ripped out my amp wiring, leaving a short part still connected to the battery and left it dangling by my fuel pump.

the truck is ok now. i filed a police report. and i slapped a stereo in it just so i can drive it.

but there goes about 600.00 in stuff. just cant catch a break.

but bright side. now theres an excuse for new speakers.

and one of my exhaust tips was taken. so now ive gotta by new tips. and while im at it im gonna buy a set of flowmaster super 10s for it.

That doesnt seem like a simple breaking into....sounds like they were on a mission to vandalize the truck. People that rob vehicles dont take the time to do all of that, they like to get in and get out.

Hate to say this but its time to get an alarm on her. They struck once, they may do it again.
