time to drag this thread outta the dinosaur bones again.....

the 700R4 does a pretty good job, considering it's 4 years older than you (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)....

but since it was slipping a little going into 3rd, I installled a 300psi xmsn dash gauge.......the pressure is O.K. in Park & reverse, but is half of what it should be in the forward gears....I gotta drop the pan & put the original wiring back the way it was since I bought all the stuff I needed to make it shift as though the computer was still connected......( I previously re-wired it to go into overdrive in 4th gear only, but cruising along the Gulf Coast highway at 40mph keeps the engine at 3,000 rpm.....something I don't want with duals & Harley gutted mufflers 7 feet behind the cab, and only a 16 gallon gas tank!

I set my motor/xmsn back as far as I could get em in the engine bay & adjusted/bolted the xmsn crossmember to the xmsn & frame........then I got short pieces of 2 x 4 & blocked up the engine in the chassis......I got the height under the oil pan just right......then I moved the engine/with headers installed..... side to side until i got it offset about an inch to the passenger's side(which helped the header clear the steering shaft somewhat) for weight distribution to offset the gas tank/driver combined weight.....then I built one mount as I fit it in place while I bolted it to the mount which was attached to the engine& welded it to the framerail while under the truck........then I did the other engine mount the same way (fitted it/welded it together/bolted it to the other engine mount that was bolted to the engine/then welded it to the frame....

That's the age old battle, money and no time or time and no money. Lot of us are just waiting for Spring to even see our driveways again. Garage too cold, time to do last Springs house cleaning.

finally had a day above freezing, so i gave the old girl a bath and cleaned it up a bit.

considering its just wet from washing it, its really flat black in reality.

but when it runs ill be painting it.

I think you should do gloss black with a engine color that sticks out and pokes you in the eye.

the idea is to do gloss black from the body line up, then a cranberry metallic from the line down, engine bay black, and the engine that cranberry color.
