Well the engine is all stripped. Just pulled the pan to clean out the pickup screen.

Tomoro will pull the timing cover to install a new timing chain and seal.


Then hope to get it it's first coat of epoxy primer.

Pics will follow.

did ja alreddy buy the timing set...........why dontcha put one of them semi-whinny gear-drives in it so's i kan hear what they sound like....ore have yoy herd them before....i'm not talkin about the LOUD ones...them kind sound like garbijj......waaaa

yeah i bought a stock replacement and installed it already.

i hate those gear drives. they sound like a bad alternator





anyway. engine is all primed. primed with a good upol 2k urethane primer. tomoro will paint engine and let dry over weekend.

and dont worry. i have a chrome timing cover. and i sanded the oil pan more after that pic

hope to smooth out the engine bay and reapint that tomoro and take more pics.

LOL Wow, really cleaned that thing up. 'Bout time! Good to see some progress tho man.

Thanks Pete. Got it all painted today. Got the new timing cover installed and intake. Next is to put trans on stand and clean/paint and reseal and change the fluid/filter.

Imbetween this I'm sanding and smoothing out the crossmember and bay area and getting them ready for paint.


I wont be able to post pics till Monday night. Because I will be away.

But as soon as I get back, right back at it.

well, i left my camera home, and my phone died when i went to take the pics



anyway, got my new waterpump all painted and installed. and finished the welding and grinding on the crossmember.

so i shot some primer on the engine bay and frame. and painted everything with deltron 2000 saphire black. and clear coated everything.

now just got to go around and flatten various things to add some contrast.

but all in all the engine should be back in final by next weekend. maybe a little sooner if all goes well.

going to drop the pan on the trans tomoro, get that all painted. and im going to carlisle turs, and friday, so ill pick up some odds and ends for it.

then sat. im hoping to drop the engine in for the last time.
