Just bought a 4d55t truck, some questions...

Well, i think part of it is that's probably in the wrong section and i don't have a lot of pics right now...

This is the fuel tank from the diesel that i installed this afternoon. I've put alot of grease everywhere on it to prevent more rust. the sender is not in the same spot as the other tank and there is no fuel pump inside.

That took me about two hours and a half to "mate" both exhaust systems together... 2 1/8 to 2 1/2 pipe (i'm not really good at this stuff) At least it's done...

Exhaust is something I'm not looking forward too.. are you making a complete exhaust? Isn't the stock size under 2"?

I just mate the front pipe to the existing two and a half system. I try to keep the cost down. Later on, when that exhaust dies, i'll have one put under by pros.

Ok that is what was throwing me for a loop, you had an existing 2.5" system.. I think that is the size I will go too.

It is a temporary fix. I will rode the truck. the existing pipe is on it's last miles. Still no leaks, but winters and salty roads are bad for any parts of a vehicle. It's rainy today. I started to weld some wires but got bored by the rain. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

For the exhaust, i have read on 4x4wire that bigger than 2 3/4 is useless for these engines. I'll change mine for a 2 1/2 if it's not too loud when the time comes.

Hey, oh2, could you take a pic for me of the wires coming out of the fuel filter? i can't figure out where the 2 wires at the top were connected. My diagrams don't mention them. I'd guess they do connect to the same colored wires that comes from the bottom of the filter (red-light green, black) but i'm unsure cause the connector splits the signal from 2 to 4 wires.

Sorry didn't see your question until now, Let me know if you need anything else or have any other questions. I know there are wires for the heater element inside, and a signal for the Water in Fuel light.

Red / White dots - Signal to Water in Fuel Light
Black - Ground
Red / Light Green - Power to Fuel Heater from 12V Ignition

Not much left to do... oil cooler lines, rad, battery cable, fill the transmission, oil change, bleed the clutch and brakes... test start...

I have three batteries i can use. 2 ac delco identical that were on the first ranger diesel i bought in 2010. They were new at the time. They hold charge but i want to use a different set up. I have a big ass interstate deep cycle/cranking battery (boats/rv) i want to try.

The oil i've got is 10w30 heavy duty diesel oil from motomaster. I'll have to buy some 15w40 for the summer.

I don't have a camera handy at the moment. I'll try to get my friend to make a vid with his iphone.

It won't be ready til a couple more days, i have some other duties to take care of.
