just an idea i had...

I have a Ranger bench in the garage, not too bad to sit on for a break.

I would LOVE to make a coffee table out of my 2.8 if I could find a way to lighten it up. 2-300lbs or whatever it weighs is a little much for a table, but it would be cool...

i had some seats from a 72 lincoln...power,leather....they were pretty comfy.

How did i miss this thread!

gwaii............where did you put the battery?

it was under the coffee table with a trickle charger on it.the only source of music i had at the time was a car stereo,so i needed 12 volts to power it.

unfortunately,i didn't have the tailgate table idea....wish i had thought of that.

i did have a set of taillights from a 67 thunderbird as a wall hanging though....with the turn signals ant taillights hooked up,of course-as well as some headlights as floor mounted spots(by floor mounted i mean the bulbs were sitting on the floor, pointing at the ceiling).

MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did you have enough battery amps to operate the eeeeeeeeeeeeee-lectric seats?

easilly.of course, they werent going all the time, just playing around till comfortable.

but a fully charged car battery will operate seats for quite a while.

the stereo and lights were the real load as they stayed on for longer.then i'd just step up the charger.

Now if only I had a welder and could use pistons and connecting rods as the legs for it.

Oh well, I suppose a wood frame will have to suffice. Hopefully the "pop rivets" hold it together.

I love it!

you do realize that if there is a wife involved that she is *not* going to go for this, and if there is a girlfriend involved (wife definitely will not go for that, but I digress..) she will probably not approve either, and as soon as she is upgraded to the position of wife, she will insist that your decorations go.
If there is a potential girlfriend involved or someone that you want to be your girlfriend, you might scare them away...

just sayin...

The girlfriend already left me and I like to think of it as a "shallow bitch" filter. Any girl that has a problem with it isn't worth my time.

Hell, she would have to love it in order to get to my heart!

On a side note, I go to college and live on campus, and some of our buildings are widely separated. I gave a friend a ride to a separate building as I was headed off campus and cold-starting my truck anyways, and it was really cold out and a long hike. We were just pulling out of the parking lot when she goes "Oh my god, this is a Ranger SUV!" She went on to explain how she had a Ranger as her first vehicle, and loved it. She even did her own bodywork to fix rust holes in the fenders! Too bad she is a lesbian in a serious relationship...

aint that always the way.....

build yourself a little frame to lock the bench seat into, so you can swap from the house to the truck if you need it, lol dont weld anything permanent onto the taigate in case you need that too.

in my case i just screwed the seat to a couple of 2x10s....seemed stable enough.

One of my customers offered me the back bench from a full size bronco. Waitin on pics.

I'm pretty sure Jeff Foxworthy did a "You might be a redneck" joke about this sort of thing. Just sayin. :D
