Axle shaft Oil seal question

I just finished installing the new axle shaft and just have to fill up with gear oil tomorrow but I'm worried I may have missed a step.
I kept the original oil seal as It was not leaking before but I wiped it clean thinking that I was supposed to do that but I did not re-apply any more grease on the inside lip before re-inserting the axleshaft. Will this cause a leak?

any comments on this?

I'm ready to put in the diff fluid but I was hoping to get some feedback on this issue so I know if I should just take it all apart again and put some grease on the inside lip of the oil seal or if this isn't going to be a problem

Put a drop of oil around the outside of the seal, then work the shaft in/out the tiny amount it can move a bunch of times. Do the same again after you've filled it and it should be fine.

Bluebombersfan,

Just curious where you're located, because the blue bombers are
a local HS football team here in PA

From Winnipeg Mb, BlueBombers are our CFL team, Havent won a Grey Cup since 1993 and doesn't look like will be getting one anytime soon the way things are going, pretty rough considering there is only about 8 teams I think. Labbatt Blue Beer was named after the bombers.
