I've been pretty fortunate with working on vehicles and not having much for accidents. I won't jack anything up unless its on a hard surface and i definitely wont crawl under anything without jack stands. I have, however, done some stupid stuff with tools.
Pulled so hard on a breaker bar in an awkward position trying to remove the axle nut on my old Ram, I pulled my shoulder out. Doesn't sound that bad but it hurt like hell. Hurt even worse when my old man pushed it back in.
About 8 years ago, I was connecting an air hose to a right angle Dotco with a cut off wheel while crouched down. Grinder had a swivel on it so I had it laid across my knee. I somehow managed to push the trigger lock and it was wide open when the air hit it. Blood soaked my brand new boot and there was meat hanging out of my leg. I cleaned it up, put a couple butterflies on it and finished the last 7 hours of my shift with a squishy boot. Some cauterizing and about 6 stitches later I was good to go.
About a week after the prior incident, I was sitting on top of a pressure screen (paper industry) on a positioner welding up a seam. 1/16" dual shield filling a 3/8" bevel. I stopped to reposition and went to throw the gun over my lap. Red hot berry on the end of the wire stuck right in my knee about an inch below the gash from the Dotco. That one cauterized itself.
About two months after that, I had a 7" grinder with a 36 grit sanding disk kick back and gash my gut. Still have a scar about 4 inches long from that. At this point, I probably should have considered a career change.
I've also smashed a couple fingers bad enough that the nail fell off from back to front as it grew out and have had many severe burns from putting my hands and arms on things that are quite warm.
Thats not all of it but I could probably write a dang novel on how to injure yourself in stupid ways.
