Are you sure you can test them by applying 12v?.
I tried that last year and the wires welded themselves to the connectors just pryor to the wires glowing bright red and melting.
I tried a j/yard part on the motor and it did not control the idle either. After seeing what the part costs in the states I can't imagine what one costs here. As a tempory solution I removed the solenoid and made a plate with a screw in to allow the air bypass to be adjusted manually, warmed up the motor and adjusted the idle speed to around 750. When the motor is cold you have to keep the rpm up with the pedal for a minute or two but otherwise seemed to work fine. Ran like that for a couple of weeks until the cel came on, bummer. Thought to myself "perhaps I should plug something into the electrical connector" so I plugged the j/y part into the harness, tiewraped it to the intake and cleared the codes. It's been like that for almost a year now and still no cel so I'm not going to spend a fortune for a part that would cost me almost what I paid for the truck and might not solve the problem anyway.
