Jfox4's 2004 Ford Ranger 2WD

Check out doetsch-shocks.com for suspension lift. I got some coil spacers from them. They specialize in prerunner rangers, and they have a kit similar to fabtech. I believe 06rangerxlt got some of their spindles and likes them.

i was just about to ask if i could recommend some stuff to you. Doetsch is out of Cali, and im running their 3" spindles and 2" shackles. I will be getting their 3" coils and upper control arms with BJ, and Deavers out back.

They give you 6" lift, 8-10" wheel travel and have a lifetime no sag warranty. Ive heard what fabtech is like, and believe it or not Doetsch is way cheaper, and better quality.

Oh sweet I didn't know about the no sag warranty. I wonder if that covers the poly spacers too? Supposedly they'll squash down over time.

Sorry Jfox, I don't mean to thread jack.

thanks for the replies and recommendations guys!:icon_thumby: i will check out the doetsch setups for sure. i appreciate the help because im new to this and trying to learn all that a can. and "06rangerxlt" your truck is awesome:icon_thumby: and "nb11" dont worry bout thread jackin or whatever i dont give a crap we can talk about whatever :D I just want to get my truck more badass!

well take your time and plan out what you want. stick to that plan. saving and buying what you want is better then spend it now save later.

Looks really good with the bodylift
white with black looks really good.
your door looks a bit dented, whats up with that?
the fender paint looks good btw, matches the rest of the truck really well.

I would suggest a black brush guard or roll bar maybe.

thanks for the compliments man i like how its looking too! :D As for the body it came with some body damage. i messed the fender up last winter and now that its replaced and painted it looks good and its even rattle canned haha but its cheap and looks good. As for the dents and dings im slowly workin on them but not too worried about it. not a big deal to me rather spend on lift and tires and slowly fix the small stuff. and yeah i love the black and white and would like to get a black brush guard or roll bar.

and yeah i love the body lift but i want more haha im glad these tires dont look too small with the body lift. i think im going to get some 33/12.50/r15 cepek crushers after my next lift and re gear. i think 35's will push it too much :dunno: really dont want to get an 8.8 but if its really necessary i would.

if you push the truck, IMO, the 8.8 will be needed...

and IF you didn't spend all that money on that audio stuff that you won't even want in a few years, you could have afforded the suspension lift by now right?? lol, just busting balls man. i know i've wasted a lot of money on audio equipment for my b2 that i don't even care to have anymore. if i had all that money now, i'd have a second b2 sas'ed for trail use only.. yeah, i've probably wasted that much money down the line...

how old are you? is this your first build? my b2 is mine, just curious.

just keep building it as you can. its YOURS, make it what you want it to be.

very very true i've wasted a ton of money but got to live and learn hahaha. not really into audio so yeah it was a waste. As for the axle i may do it may not got to think on it. This is my first truck/ first vehicle ever and yes its my first build. Im 20 years old too. :icon_thumby: trying to do more and more of the work on my own. i have a off road shop nearby that ive taken it too once for the BL. thanks for the reply too:icon_cheers:

How's the truck coming along man? And what size tires do you have on your truck right now? I didn't see it in your build but maybe I read over it. And it's recommended that the 7.5 should not have tires bigger than 33's. Also, what gears would you use?

the truck is looking good man. Did you ever get a chance to look into the fabtech stuff? I was comparing prices, and fabtech 3" kit was around $700, and im glad i went with doetsch because it was $550 shipped!

I dont know if your gonna want 9" of lift, personally i think it would be too much for a 33 and a 7.5, but thats just me. 35's, and a ford 8.8 or 9" would be my reccomendation. for gears, id say if you have a 4.0, 4.56's with 33-35. if you have a 3.0 or 4cyl, 4.88's for 33-35's.

Keep us posted on updates! im excited to see this truck once done.

trucks looking good man. Ive basically got the same truck, just a year older. I put 2" in the rear and 2.5" in the front with 31" tires and I dont use 5th gear at all anymore. Its definitely to much for it. A STRONG tailwind will let me run 5th, but thats it.

and I gotta say, the firestone a/t's were a good choice. I had a pair on my 2000 xlt and absolutely loved them. Got me through everything and rode great on the road.

You should post a pic of your touchscreen
