jet chip programmer and chip

For real. 16 mpg is ridiculous. Try new oxygen sensors; I put all new ones on my 99 4x4 3 liter and I am getting 21 mpg a lot of times.

really? i thought 16 was about the norm for an auto... this was my dads truck before, and he's always been getting this mileage. he bought it used with 1500 miles, now it has about 75k

i'm not throwing any codes (CEL) or anything and it seems to be running fine.

*sorry i took so long to respond, i kinda forgot about this thread

Alot of it depends on how and where you drive. I drive like an old guy on the street, and I live in a rural area, thus I get 21 a lot. If I stay in town I get much lower, probably around 17 MPG. Plus mine is a standard transmission, they get better mileage.

so if i get 15-16 around town, then thats about right?

its all about the rear with the fuel econ. tires effect it too.

EVERTHING effects it really, when you get down to it. For highway mileage I prefer 3.73's with about stock tires, maybe just a hair taller or wider. All these people with 4.11's are just throwing their money away. FYI that is what 4 low is for.

I was looking into getting a chip as well and I saw that Superchips sells a programmer with performance setting and gas saver but it is like $400. I was wondering if anyone has ever used the gas saving tune and would it be worth the extra money.
