i'm working on a D30 swap into my BII, myself. gonna rid myself of that troublesome D35 that i've beaten into a leaky pulp. here's how i'm doing it on the cheap:
YJ housing -- disconnect style = sixxer of cheap piss-water (beer)
TJ shafts -- helping a buddy upgrade to a D60 in his TJ = free shafts that can fit 760x joints
u-joints -- 760x that i "stole" from the Superior Axle chromo kit that i'm stuffing in the D44 for the "real" rig that i'm slowly building = mere pennies
carrier, gears, and locker -- 'bout the only thing i'm paying anywhere close to retail for.
gear setup = beer
suspension -- radius arms robbed from a junkyard F150, coils from a TJ that's "upgrading", "soul-brotha engineered" track-bar, secondhand radius arm mounts = less than $150
steering = stock junk from a Heep modified to fit = $25
FWIW, friend of mine has a D30 in his TJ with 4.88s, Aussie Locker, and Warn hubs -- nothing more -- that's pushing around 35" blue lable Krawlers
