James Duff Site

I don't have anything against CVs. I could do just fine with a new Ranger with a locker in it and 33s.

Yeah, I know. I was just venting a bit.:icon_twisted:

Besides, Rangers are tougher than the competition:clapping:

I've seen alot of the super duty's, chevy's, dodge's all lifted with the stupid rims and tires, and I bet they never see mud, let alone dirt. My stock Ranger would do better offroad with 30's:D. Do they really have nothing else to spend there money on? They wouldn't be able to clear half the trees where I wheel. LOL.

All I have to say is all you JD haters are gonna be eating you words soon enough........and AllenD, you don't have a clue, stick to answering tech questions......

From the sounds of things they quit making alot of the RBV stuff, and the jist I got was that it was just "ok" anyway. Are they coming out with a new line of stuff or what is the big secret that only you know that will make everyone eat their words?

Yesss....please do tell.

Yo,
Ok, i emailed James Duff, they told me that they are still updating the website and that they are currently researching and comming out with all sorts of new ranger products. Thats all they said, so i think we should stay tuned.

Let them come out with a complete titanum frame set and suspension.

It is generally unwise to alienate your likliest future customer base by
systematically discontinuing the items (Items that I was recommending to
everyone) and only making the comment when asked "sorry it wasn't selling all that well", which hardly suggests that they'd come out with anything "new" for the Ranger based vehicles.

And if they do who exactly do they expect to sell them to?
The people like me that they've annoyed?

Frankly, except for my set of traction bars every time I tried to order something I found that they had discontinued it and that has been
going on for 5+ years

I wanted another TWO sets of traction bars, sorry discontinued.
I wanted an axle truss, sorry discontinued
Another set of Rear mount front sway bar bushings, sorry, out of stock.
(perpetually) are they discontinued now? At this point I'd like to know why
I should go to their web page and look to see one way or the other?

I wanted a body bushing set, can you guess what I was told?
I tried THREE TIMES to order their stainless braided brake line set and it was always "out of stock" so I finally bought stock style rubber lines FOR MORE MONEY from my local NAPA store.

I don't "hate" James Duff, I went out of my way to support them because for all effects and purposes they WERE the "Aftermarket" for the Ranger and the Bronco2... And what did they do? they stopped making everything I wanted
and when I recommended improvements to exsisting products o suggest new ones my suggestions were accepted with dismissive comments.

They dropped everything from their catalog, things that they could EASILY make more of WHEN those items actually get ordered, did they think of that?
aparrently not.

Either that or they simply never moved the Jigs for fabrication of those items
when the company moved from Washington to Wherever it is now, KY or TN?
And changed hands to the new generation (daughter and son-in-law is it?)

Mabey they will come out with something new and useful,
frankly I'm not betting on their doing it.

Mabey they will reintroduce some of those discontinued items
(Yeah, and mabey that cute australian Victoria's Secret model
will ring my doorbell in the next 15minutes to say she wants me
to father 12 children with her, I.E. NOT BLOODY LIKELY!)

Are they selling what I want to buy? No!

And If I'm forced to make myself what they presently
"refuse" to make for me what do I need them for?

But "hate"? don't use that word any more because
you obviously don't know what it means.

As far as the superduty stuff goes, are you guys saying I should scrap the Ranger and Explorer, put a cheap A$$, mall poser lift on my new(its new to me anyways a 2000 F-350 dually)F-350, and hang out at the mall and try to impress the 15/16 year old girls :idiot:? If thats the way wheeling is headed I'll never see it I go to the mountains......(P.S. I'm being a smart ass so don't worry I won't bling out my puller:joke:)......

the simple short form is that James Duff doesn't want my buisness because they stopped making the things that interested me in their product line in the first place.

And I've gotta ask, just how many people are out there buying parts
for shoebox Bronco's anymore?

I know one guy who isn't.... he just asked me to tow his '73 5.0/C4/D44
Bronco away.

I will.... in pieces.

It's grotesquely inaccessable where it is. And for that matter has been
(to the best of my recollection) sinking slowly into the top soil since
the mid '80's

And I've gotta ask said:
Alot more than are buying parts for rangers :P There is something like 5 part vendors for EB's ( Wildhorses, James Duff, Jeffs, Toms, WCB, ) and maybe some smaller ones. EB owners seem to be older( have mrore money) and do more with them, ( from restored stockers to wicked crawlers).

And btw, you should tow that 73 away. Even if the body is a rusted pos, you could still make good money on it!

People in their midlife crisis that have always wanted one. Just like how over inflated the muscle car area is.

I've been noticing out here the number of early Broncos out on the trails has dwindled tremendously over the last several years. Last couple times out I don't think I saw even a single one (it's almost entirely Jeeps now (most of which seem to be TJs), Toyota pickups are probably a distant 2nd most common).
Another I almost never see anymore is the Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser.

I can only guess it's because everyone has finally trashed them all (and no one wants to beat on or cut up any of the "good" ones that are left due to the incredibly absurd prices people want for one now).
