Thread the lower balljoint nut back on a couple of threads to keep it from landing on the floor when it does come off.
Grab a big hammer (48oz ballpein, mini sledge, etc) and hit the knuckleright where the lower balljoint goes through it. Its just a press tapered fit, it will let go. Just gotta hit it harder.
Actually if you hit the BEAM "on the chin" (either lower corner)...
Striking the knuckle can break the knuckle, as the knuckles are somewhat brittle grey iron castings.
