It Runs!!!!

Well did the conversion to Duraspark and after some turmoil it is running, the real problem is the distributor from NAPA which was not a perfect casting and required some buffing so it would fit thru the the block and the worrying about the tooth diff on the drive gear but it is all OK. The next problem was the carburator swap which turned up the bore is larger so I had to ream the bore on the thermal gasket so the throttle plates will open. other than that all is OK and it runs yes the beast is alive.

I had the same problem with the one I got from Auto Zone.
