Hey everyone. First, id like to think thouse who tolerated and answerd my questions regarding the Cylinder head mystery. Last friday I had picked up my new engine from Napa, with plans to have it replaced in about three days. So i went home during reading week, and three days pass, still not togeather. Anyways, after a solid weeks work, its all back togeather. Mind you, once the engine was out, i figured i would repair a host of small issued, Including re-doing the engine wireing harness. Got the new engine runing last night at 2am. I know that some guys who run EFI advance the base timing to 14 BTDC from 10 BTDC.. I was woundering if this is a good idea during break in? Also, I got conflicting storys on how to "break it in". My idea was always, be gental till it warms up, drive it normaly, beat it for a bit, then let it cool down, and repeat for a few min. The haynes manual says somthing different, and the stuff i got with the engine says to drive it normaly and take it easy on it for a while., what do ya recomend. I will have pics of my reading week adventure posted soon

Did it come with a roller cam or did they put in some cheap flat tappet cam?
The roller doesn't require a special break in but, the flat does.
Motors don't like different drivers, fleet engines don't last long. Drive it like you normally would. Just remember, after thrashing it hard let it cool down for a while before you shut it off.

thanks, its a roller motor. I drive it like i normaly do,....im pritty demanding of equipment. When it gets up tp operating temp, i will flog it a bit more, but only for a few seconds, then let it cool off by crusing. Im heading back to college tomorow so that gives me 1.5 hrs to work with it. I also found a lotta info on the E6 heads, and im not so anoyed if thats what i ended up with. I can live with it. Im just happy to have somthing that runs smooth with a rumble, rather then a knock, and smoke haha.
