It has begun! (Official Trucks! TV 4.6L Mazda B-Series / Ford Ranger build)

Whats the size on the Cobra pumpkin....8.8?
I have seen some IRS T-Birds at the PAP in Nashvegas they were 8.8.
I think I counted 3 that were complete with disc brakes.

sounds awesome

just saw parts 7 and 9 (what you guys have available online). Looks pretty bitchin'.... I have my dvr set to pick up any episodes that air on comcast.

On another note, I really have to blame you guys for my love of cars and trucks.... I remember watching trucks when I was really young, I loved the projects.. Even though you guys have changed hosts once or twice, I still really love the show, It doesn't come on TV near enough. The Dodge/Ford Work truck was pretty cool.

now if only I can get a hold of the old episodes, I know there is no way you can do this, but it'd be awesome if there was a way you could release the ranger project episodes to your friends at TRS.... lol

good luck on the future builds, can't wait to see 'em

yeah, the diff is an 8.8 from an 04 Cobra. We've installed Maximum Motorsports busing and adjuster (Grip Kit) so wheelhop shouldn't be an issue.

I started watching Trucks! a long time ago too.... I love all the old episodes and projects, and am very proud to be a part of it all. This Ranger project allows us (both) to delve into alot more "car-ish" tech and mods than ever before and it's really becoming my favorite build. ( other than my '66 Terminator powered"stang")

Thanks for watching!

KT.

I noticed that when you guys installed the Ranger grille and headlights, that the whole assembly wobbled quite a bit. Must not've had all the brackets and bracing in yet?

That motor/SC combo with th 6-speed is gonna be killer!! :icon_surprised:

Been watching Trucks since the first episode........nice to see you guys taking it to the level you have.

still think you guys should build a 67-72 C10 to take on Copperhead :D

i never saw any part of part 2. hell i didnt even get to see part 1 finished. wanna share some pics that you can?

Anyone have an pics of the front coil bucket mods and plating they did? Im trying to explain to a buddy who wants to SAS his 2wd and the plating would be perfect for his application. Part 9 had some good video of it, but I cant seem to find anything online.

Finally!!!

Ok, we are FINALLY back on TRUCKS! after a 10 week stint in "Search and Restore" the new Powerblock show... This weekends show is a new one and shows alot of stuff with the ranger.... mostly how we solve the problem of the sheetmetal mis-match with the new stretched wheelbase...

Sorry it's been so long since I've showed my face here.... that'll change too hopefully. In the meantime, if anybody's going to Carlisle PA in August 5/6/7 for the "TRUCK NATIONALS" I'll be set up there and teaching seminars all weekend.

Holla!

glad to see you guys are back to it! I am very interested in how you guys handle the sheetmetal and still keep it looking good.

What about Super Dually? When do you guys think you will actually start using it as the tow rig?

ShouLda finished super dually and used it for search and restore! Lol

then taken it to canada so we coulda applied for search and restore

Man, youre preachin to the choir! I'd love to come to the great white north and show people what Canadians have been doing since the dawn of motorized vehicles.... I cut my teeth up there working around my Dad and Uncle ( Brother and cousins) and an awesome and diverse selection of vehicles to modify and fix. People down here don't realize all the different Canadian specific versions of the "Big three" as well as how many British vehicles we had ( and you still have) to choose from! Anglias, British Fords ( Cortinas, Capris,) Austins, and Jags are plentiful, as well as Mercury pickups, Beaumonts, rare Pontiacs, and many more that I don't know of or cant recall...

Regardless, I think you'll dig what we've done with the front sheetmetal... it's really just simple problem solving... which is all hotrodding really is anyway. There's more to come on that truck... asit gets closer to a functional vehicle were making big plans to drive it! and it's gonna look ( and work) awesome when we do it or I'll die trying.

Anyhow, thanks for hanging in with us.... sorry it's been so long!.
