is this mostly BS??

Sorry, but I have to claim at least 80 to 90% as :bsflag:
When did a 2005 Ranger come with a 3.08. And for the most part, who the heck drives a gasoline engine at 1,200 RPMs, especially the Dual-Cam Duratech (Which makes it power in the higher band). I may drive at 1,500 RPMs, but thats with the older 2.3L. And thats only when I'm cruising with barely any power. Any more, I downshift and then acclerate.

Also gotta like the idea of "Higher octane". Hint buddy. If your engine is pre-detonating at 1300 to 1600 RPMs. It doesn't mean its the octane level. It means you are overworking the engine and need to downshift.

:buttkick:

The synthetic oil gave my old 79 Impala with 350 4bbl dual exhaust and 300, kms in repeat tests over a known distance using the same brand gas station in the same place 70 hwy miles apart 1 mp. The engine did start easier , especially
in the winter and the oil was cleaner at 5,000 k.
