Is this hole meant to be there? :/

Hi all!

I was trying to track down some loud engine noise and noticed this hole under my transmission. I recently had some transmission bearings and clutch replaced and wonder if they maybe forgot to put something back in there? This can't be meant to be this way? Pic attached.

There are vent holes and inspection holes, I would assume that's an inspection hole that should have a rubber cover.

On a side note, uhhh is you exhaust pipe cut in half?

That's the clutch inspection hole. There's a rubber plug that goes there to keep dust out.

Found a pic of one with the cover on it.

Last part number for that dust cover(2001) was 1L5Z-7564-AA

Old number(1988) was E8TZ-7564-A


Dirtman, I can see the pressure plate, lol, so that must be a 3rd party saran wrap model

@Dirtman yeah I dunno what's up with the exhaust. I had assumed that's some sort of heat shield/mount bit meant to be like that, but I'll explore more because that's exactly where my engine noise is coming from lol.
