and this is were the extra money for better quality comes in, were the system i made is good. it comes to $260 if it were me id spend the extra 40 for the JL system, the amp is better. and the sub is a lil better but along the same lines

the system that 4x4fun put together is ok but like he said i would go with the JL over that. Wat r u wanting a system for, just to add a lil bass or r u wanting to knock the block....and theres nothng wrong with used drivers if you kno where they came from (reliable friend) and kno for a fact they were propertly hooked up and taken care of. is it absolutely necessary to buy from that site or would you consider buying off an internet site? If you would buy from an internet site i would look into gettin 1 or 2 Sundown Audio E8's. There goin for about $80 these days and are good for the money. Id your just wanting to add a lil bass to your system i wouldnt get a sub yet...i would upgrade ur stock speakers and throw a nice 4channel amp on em.

To be honest while that first sub box you posted wasn't phenomenal it seems relatively inexpensive, headache free, and simple. Amps made from good companies usually are only physically broken. I dare someone to blow a decently made amp with all the internal protection they put in there without dunking it underwater or causing it to overheat because of improper installation. Most you'll do is blow the fuse.
