Is this gear box repairable or toast? Now I know why I couldn't get all the air out of the previous PS pump.

I assume it leaked and you cleaned it off. If you can get a seal kit, strip it down and clean all the fluid off it could be welded. It would leak if I tried but some epoxy might work if you don't want to strip it down.

But epoxy is basically free to try. Especially if it's on a non pressurized side.
 
Technically probably repairable. Depends on how much effort you want to put into it. I don’t know that I’d mess with epoxy, I’d probably either drill and tap it for a set screw and red locktite that bugger in there or try to work a bead of weld in there. The steering boxes were the same for Rangers 83-97, Bronco II, first gen Explorer, F-series 80-96/97, E-series, full size Bronco….
