My credo
Question everything
My Dad had this never been used BINKS model 62 and no drip syphon cup stored away for god knows how long. Nozzle says 66 x 66SD.

Would I be better off using this setup or something from harbor freight for spraying black tractor paint on the inside of my bed. It has some rust in the corners and eventually will be patched up and sprayed.

@RobWigglezz

If the quality is Paramount, what size is the main spray gun nozzle hole and how many holes dies it have (the more holes the more it is geared to a final finish); it should be 1.6, 1.7 or 1.8...1.8 with 3-5 holes is more for primer while the 1.6 with 5-9 holes is better suited to top coat or final finish.

For a bed liner job, any primer nozzle will accomplish the job and Binks does make a great component. Take it apart, give a good cleaning, make sure that the needle has not been damaged and that all the gaskets/seals are in tack. If aged/cracked they are very affordable to replace and NECESSARY 🙂

4 holes. Pin gages are at work but a .028" needle fits, while a .03" doesn't. So that's 0.7 ish mm

Taking it apart now to see how the seals are

I'm pretty sure he meant the nozzle holes shown in your first picture. And you can buy different nozzles for that gun. I would trust Binks over HF any day, though I have read many accounts of people saying the HF sprayers are pretty decent. Replacement parts for Binks should be easily available.
