No repairs, no damage? If they are not dry rotted...get them. Do you know how old they are? If they are over 5 years old I would not buy them to tell you the truth, Bro.

^^^ Yes, check for weather checking and cracking on sidewall and between treads. I've used older than five year old tires with no issues BUT there is a risk of catastrophic failure... what are you willing to risk? The tread depth doesn't look that great but I just bought a used set of tires, 1/4" tread depth, mounted and balanced for $C200.00 from a tire shop. That didn't include rims. I'd offer 100 and go from there.

So im out of state right now, but i managed to get him to hold them so i can look at them on the sixth. The guy should be sending me some more pictures and i'll post them here. If they're older than five, i wont get em, but if their better than the tires i have ill buy them. My current tires are like 8 years old. They have good tread left because the truck had be sitting for a long time but there is a lot of cracking.

There's a code molded into the sidewall - DOT code - that should help you date the tires as to age.

I like those rims alot too, my brother's yota has the same rims.

also, im going from 195/70r14's and i plugged the sizes into that calculator thing and it said that if my speedo said i was doing 75, i would actually be going 97 so i think it's a good idea if i get it recalibrated. do you thing a tire shop could do it? that would be nice because my dad has a friend who runs a big-o in my area.

And...
I measured for clearance and the tires won't clear the front wheel wells, and i've heard that i can install explorer coils up front for around 2 in. of lift. is this true? if it is, what would be a good price for a pair at the JY?

i see a little bit of cracking but it doesn't look that bad, he said a guy took them off his truck and gave them to this owner who left them behind his shop for two years.

Think I wouldn't go more than $100 max personally. Thats if I like the rims, which I can't decide if I do or not. Those close-ups do make it look like they've been just sitting out in the weather like he said so be careful. I thought that particular tire had alot more tread depth when new? The ad says 75% but the penny test he did for you shows around 4/32's if I remember right and the top of abe's head is about 2/32's? So if that was 25% it would be 1/2" tread depth new. Not to mention he said they were taken off and left out back. Good luck!

If I got them how long do ya think they would last? Im getting a lift kit but I can't afford the lift kit and new tires so I would pry use these for like 4 or 5 months tops. Also, I don't drive on the freeway only on roads at 55 mph tops. I should be ok for a little bit right?

I'd run 'em. But thats just me. I'd be pushin the comfort level payin $100 myself.
