Is it just me???

Or does nobody use a cb anymore? i just hooked mine up tonight and i love it! the only problem is its dead silent unless you ask for a radio check. :dunno:

what's a CB? :icon_rofl:
I have a hand-held CB unit with a built in antenna stuffed under my truck seat just in case I need help but I don't normally use it. My cell works pretty much every where I go so I can always get help. Back in the day when CB's were popular it was fun to listen in but now, I find it boring as hell :dunno:

I've got the Cobra 75 WX ST Compact/Remote Mount CB and a 4' steel whip mounted on the roll bar and it works great. On UA I was averaging 4-5 miles ranger in each direction on flatter ground, and even in the bush I could get anyone in the group even when we spread apart and I was at one end (22 of us).

I only ever use mine when running trails with friends or a group. Doesnt even come to mind to turn it on in the city. It does seem to be a dying use among people but I think they're great. If only more people I wheel with had some instead of the old "if we need to talk I got my cell" crap. To me the cb is easier to work when steering, clutching ect on a hard trail then dialing a number or texting.

I hope to get one soon. Maybe I can convince my friends as well... I may only be 22 but I think CBs are bad-effin-ass. I can't wait to have it all set up in my truck! I hope those of us that understand it and appreciate it can give it a revival.

CB is alive and well in Browns Mills, NJ right next to McGuire AFB/Fort Dix. Channel 21 is quite busy. Where I work it is close to 295 and not too far from Philly. I hear people at lunch time in my truck on ch19. It's probably not like the CB hayday in the 70s where people had base radios in their kitchen, but it's still strong where I live.
BTW, if you're ever near where I live just give "Little Ranger" a shout on 21 and I'll be glad to come back to ya!! Breakah!!!!!! :icon_cheers:

Yea CB does need a revival ! I've been into radio since age 5 and now I'm 28. Dad had one in the house forever and always had them in every car he ever owned. Saved him and my mom a couple of times before cellphones came out. I love workin' on them, setting them up, and talking on them even more!
