I mean.... baseball, football, basketball, soccer and golf all on at the same time of the year ?? Geez, I like sports too but cant we get back to some definitive times of the year for these sports ? I mean it CANT be the money thats rolling in for all these extra games.. no that cant be it..

its always been that way. Though I do think 160 games for baseball seems a little excessive, same with basketball, do we really need these seasons to last 7 months?

Well... I didnt include hockey because I always considered it to be a boxing/wrassling
match on skates..

I love hockey...which is funny because I don't really like much in the way of sports, although I was pretty into the bills/cowboys game a few mondays ago.

We just got a minor league hockey team (jamestown Vikings)...I need to see how much tickets are. And I have been to a few Sabres games. Hockey on TV sucks, much better at the rink.

Baseball runs too long. Hockey starts too early and ends too late and damn near everybody qualifies for the playoffs anyway.
It's all about more games to get more TV money. Local sportwriter wrote the other day that by moving most of the games to night, baseball has lost a generation of fans since the games are on too late on weeknights for kids. He said the TV ratings for the Little League World Series were higher than the ratings for the NLCS. They're to where MLB and TV have to pray for large-market teams in the World Series or few people will watch, so there's more than a few people pulling for Boston right now. A Cleveland/Colorado WS would be watch mostly be people in Cleveland and Denver, which isn't a lot of people.

i have lost interest in most sports nowadays. back when staubach, bradshaw, swan,harris, played, that was real football. now its mostly a bunch of showboating , dancing and looking like you have done something when all you did was make a stopping tackle of 3 yds.athletes are way over paid to me, so piss on them.hockey is growing on me right now, just as long as they dont stop the slug fest from time to time.
