Is it difficult to convert.....

I have a 94 600 F2. I have about 2k dropped into. Mainly fairing and exhaust. My little 600 aint no punch. I am pretty sure I could run with the big boys (1k+) at this altitude.

It doesn’t matter what altitude your at, there is no way a 6 is gonna run with a litter bike (on the straights anyhow). Even that ancient technology like a '94 isnt gonna keep up with a newer 1000 in the twisties. I'm sure that thing weighs more then my CBR1KRR. My exhaust alone cost 2k.

Altitude makes a huge difference your bike has carb, let alone 4. Any time you are in IN next summer let me know. I am almost positive I through my "ancient technology" through the corners with the best of them. It is not about the size of motor, per say, it is about the rider.

You are silly as hell. My bike doesn't not have a single carb, let alone 4. It is fuel injected. Duel stage injection to be exact. The lowers are spitting fuel alone until 5500 rpm's, that is when the uppers kick in as well. I will be in Tacoma, WA all summer long. If you want to hit some twisties come on out and I'll show you a nice 4 mile stretch I drag knee on. I don't have any internal work done either and last time i dyno'd, it was 154.6 hp, and I can effectively use all of it. I am re geared -1 +2 with a 520 conversation, then just a few other mods.

I was referring to my bike having carbs and not fuel injection. I have a K&N drop in filter, Stage 1 Jet Kit (for constant riding at over 9k feet for 2 yrs), Vortex custom quick acceleration kit 520 -1/Stock (so I do not lose any of my top end), Shark Skinz fairings all around, Zero Gravity windscreen, CF mirrors and Jardine RT-1 Titanium race exhaust.

I was hoping to drop the motor and do some internal upgrades this winter but I do not make the same money I was a couple yrs ago. I was also thinking about dropping in a 900rr motor but that requires a small frame mod(not a good idea but can be done successfully).

I was not meaning to come across as an ass. I hate when ppl with larger bikes think that I can hang due to engine size.

I started out on a 600. I love them and plan on getting another one. Its pretty plain and simple though, a 600 producing 115 hp cant hang with a 1k producing 155 hp. if it could there would be no reason to even make the liter class. I do agree that a skilled rider on a 600 will take a 1k and new rider in the twisties. But I am not a new rider by any means and love a challenge.
As a side note, where have u been riding above 9,000'? Your last post said you are in IN and the highest point in the state is 1257'. I'm originally from Denver so I understand all to well the effect altitude has on performance.

I spent 2 yrs in Alamogordo, NM riding in the Sacramento Mountain Range, 9695 ft.

It would be more correct to say you spent 2 years riding between 4,336' (elevation of Alamogordo)and 9,695' (elevation of two highest points of the Sacramento Mts)). And even that high elevation would be a far stretched since the road doesn't even go over top of either of those unnamed peaks.

My little 2007 yamaha R6 had not one problem beating the 1000RR or the GSXR 1000 in the twistys. LOL. besides it has marchici wheels. air filter. full leo race Ti exhaust. power commander. 15/45 gearing. carbon fiber. and some race gas. with suspenion done. i had NOT one problem with beating liters in the twistys.. 160 mph up the canyon with the bitch on the back passing the 07 GSXR 1000. I love to beat the Liter bike guys in the twistys with a passenger. its not about power its all about the rider. i had a 08 ZX10R that use to talk mad crap about yamahas and said he came up to me and said i give you and your 600 props, I couldnt pass you in the twistys!

P.S I would LOVE a challange like that. I still have my full race track suit also.....

There is no doubt a 600 can beat a 1k in the twisties. The 6's are (for the most part) smaller and lighter making them ideal for it. Rider ability is 99.9% of riding seeings how most people cannot ride these bikes to their full potential. And I am sure you can smoke some 1k's in the twisties even when you have a passanger, to those 1k riders I'd have to tell them to go back to Starbucks/beach/local bike night and pose some more cause they cannot ride worth shit.

P.S I would LOVat E a challange like that. I still have my full race track suit also.....

I'm in WA state for the next year and a half. Make a rode trip and we can have some fun hittin the twisties around here.

Psychopete:
"But personally having broken power windows in the summer, I will tell you that I will take manual over power any day of the week. But just my opinion."

I agree. I have owned many vehicles from a 2004 Saab 95 2.5T (God that was a fast car...)n to a 2006 SuperDuty turbodiesel to the 86 BII I have now. When I was looking for this shell to build up I specifically DID NOT buy the power optioned BII. Just not worth the hassle. I did, however, make sure to get the AC working :)

I'm sure that's what I'll be seeing in my mirrors LOL. It would definitely be fun. I've heard good things about those Pilot Race. I run the Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa Pros (55 series rear). I LOVE those tires.
