Is anyone here having a problem with the site loading?

91stranger, that's a known issue. Almost solely thanks to photobucket deciding they weren't getting enough money, so they are the ones you need to complain to about that. Their response will be that the people who posted those photos need to buy a $100+ annual subscription, which ain't going to happen.

Only way to fix it would be for everyone who posted those photos to go back, upload photos to a different host, and edit every post containing a photobucket link. Even if those posters still had access to the original photo it's unrealistic.

There may also be an app you can add to your browser that will bypass photopuckets third party block. Haven't tried it myself so can't tell you more.

Yeah that's still messed up. NO one will pay $100 to look at pictures lol. I've never had issues with uploading pictures. It's just annoying.

I'm assuming that was from 8:19 am this morning.

IIRC it was closer to $400. That had to really help their business model. :icon_thumby:

That's why I said 100+. Remembered it was up there, but couldn't remember how high. I think they have also added a lower cost option since then, but still over $100 per year.

Ok think I may have found something. Just ran into the cannot connect thing today after browsing a few threads. Usually (not always) I can access the main section (www.therangerstation.com), and can browse for awhile but sometimes/eventually get problems clicking on threads. That is what happened today, around 12:00 pm Saskatchewan time (Saskatchewan runs year-round on permanent Daylight Mountain Standard Time, but that is a discussion for another time)

Anyway, I have to confess I have a bad habit of not logging in (since to date I haven't had to, in practice) to browse the forums, only (for instance) when I am replying to a thread.

Today I was not logged in when I started getting shut out of threads, but could still access the main page. So I tried logging in, and POOF, everything works fine.

So, Mea Culpa - I will certainly be more diligent about logging in in future. I still reckon there were times I was shut out of the main page, but will see if this solves most of my problems.

Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused to date.

And that lasted long enough for me to type and submit the above message.

Then I lost connection again.

Tried opening something else no problem.

Tried opening the main TRS - no connection.

Tried opening a new private window - success (and here I am).

So I dunno after all.

Who's your ISP, Bill? I'm on SaskTel (unfortunately - I'd rather be elsewhere).

I've had no problems, but I'm usually browsing in the evenings, and I never close the tab that I have TRS open in.

I'm on Sasktel at home and at work. Haven't been browsing TRS at work lately enough to see any problems. Will keep an eye out.

Thanks, Bill. I'm also on SaskTel.

Jim, I'm going to go out on a limb here, and suggest that it's not related to the browser, or ISP, or even geographical location. My best guess is that it's something server side, and intermittent.
