I dunno about this guy haha he emails me one time and says its posi, then the next he says its limited slip, then he said he changed the rear to a 373 posi, and now he said its limited slip again wtf!
Limited slip is sometimes called POSI! It means the same thing and IS the same thing. One guy likes positraction as a word and another likes limited slip.
The meaning is there are clutches inside the rearend. Without them clutches it is a LOCKER or a locked rearend.
Whats the difference between a Locker and an open dif? BTW, Ford's name for LSD is "Traction-Lok"
If you want to get technical about it, a limited-slip and a positraction (posi) are the same thing. A locker is different. NO Ford truck was ever built with a factory locker AFAIK.
Until now!! The F150 Raptor and the 2011 Super Duty is avaialble with a push button electric locker. Problem is the 50 or 60 grand price tag...........
yea i think i am gonna let it go... i mean i never even emailed him he found me since i put a wanted ad on craigslist...
i asked him if he knew exactly what axle he had and he just seems clueless and i dont wanna take a chance..
A little update on the truck he sent pics and it looks pretty decent...
he also said when he said posi he said he meant limited slip and said they are both the same...
he said he replaced the rear axle because he wanted Limited slip and it has the L/S 3.73 in it...
Here are the pics http://img11.imageshack.us/g/image2sh.jpg/
what do you guys think?
