The worst I had ever had to deal with was back when my Ranger was actually 3D, and not flattened. I was on Deerfoot trail, its a 100km zone. I was in the far left lane doing 140km/hour, behind the 10 or so cars ahead of me that I was keeping pace to and in front of the 20 or so cars behind me keeping pace to me. Me being invisible, had a lady in the lane next to me doing probably 60km/h (in a 100 zone might I add), pull in front of me, doing over double her speed. I lay on the horn, lay on the brakes, and I'm trying threshold breaking and thats not working, and then my wheels start locking up, as I hear my wheels squealing, and smoke pouring form them, I can hear probably 10 or so other sets of squeals coming from behind me. I kept on getting closer to her and when I was down to about 70km/h I realized I was going to hit her, and the guy beside me, who could clearly see what was going on was just watching all of this and not letting me in to do a last ditch effort to not hit her. I knew I was going to nail her so I hit the shoulder and managed to pass on the shoulder, yes I know, its illegal, but I thought it was a better option then to rear ending or sideswiping someone. I'm still laying on the horn, and I pass her giving her the finger, the guy behind me, who must have been right on my bumper, had to ditch his truck too and hit the should and I could hear his horn and see his finger too, in my rear view mirror. Some people just don't care anymore.
My replacement for the Ranger, the beast of the Dakota I have now, had the habit of being rear ended, I got hit by a Chrysler and had my bumper creased, me not caring much about the truck as its a pile of crap, told the guy that $100 would cover the damages and then we wouldn't have to deal with insurance, he was happy enough to do so, I got my money and took off, there wasn't much damage to either vehicle, I had a slight crease in my bumper and his hood was a little bit tented. I ended up getting a bumper from "Pick'N'Pull" and installed that, and I got the ball hitch for my truck, I had the receiver under the truck, just not the adapter. I found one real cheap and I slid it in while in the parking lot, and on my way home I got rear ended, again. this time, the bumper of the car didn't even touch my bumper, but it did get a nice lesson in not tailgating me with the hitch that ended up doing a fair amount of damage to the front of her car. And a few days ago, I so a jacked up Dodge truck with the hitch that had to be lowered quite a bit for legal reason, but he had a bumper sticker on the bottom of hit tailgate with an arrow pointing down to the hitch with the words "The Import Destroyer", I laughed at that.
The problem with people now is that they are always in to much of a hurry and they are the most important person on the road. If I had a loonie for every time I nearly got hit, or was put into a position where I had to avoid being hit or hitting someone, I would be a millionaire now.
