I was heading home from work today and my accelerator cable broke. I had to take some speaker wire and run it through the dash to the carb. The wire was not very long so i had to reach under the dash some. I am sure that it looked funny to the people that saw me. lol I guess now i'll get me a lokar cable. :icon_twisted:

yea aint that a b!tch. I had a 85 F-150 that happened to. You do look strange limpimg it down the road.

lol I remember a buddy of mine having the linkage break on his windshield wipers in the middle of a storm. he took his shoestrings out and tied one to the drivers side and one to the passenger side and ran them through the windows and the doors, and he would pull the shoestring on his side and his passenger pulled it back to clear the windows until he got home.

Thats nuts I would have parked my A** till the rain quit.

I was not along for this trip, but I did see the aftermath of it.

93 caviler V6 5-speed. About 2.5 hours from home, a couple of my buddies were driving down near Lancaster, and Arnold shifted, let her out, went to hit his next shift and had no pedal at all.

Keep in mind this is a cable clutch. It somehow tore either right at the end of the shift, or between them. He had to get it off the road, and parked in the middle of Lancaster, at night, in 3rd because he couldn't speed shift it. They ended up getting that one towed home.
