Interchangeable parts?

does anyone have a page or website that tells whats interchangeable from other years? plus would a new front end be able to work on my 97? im having a hard time finding valve covers so any help would be great and a rear axle. thanks.

there is one stickied in the tech lib submission forum. VCs from any truck with the same engine should work. OHV to SOCH 4.0 won't swap.

To put a 98+ front end on an older truck would likely require changing the inner fenders and/or core support.

Rear axle will work out of any Ranger with no modification. Explorer 8.8" rears require the spring perches moved to work. BIIs usually have the spring perches set to a different width and were only available in 7.5"

Valve covers must be off of a similar motor.

thanks guys for the info. i just know looking at the newer ones against mine and they just look close. has anyone ever done this type of conversion? plus would you guys know if a s10 bed is the same as a ranger. im lookin for a truck cap and have a hard time finding one specifically for a ranger but there are tons for s10s. thanks again.

Yeah, as long as the lengths are the same. We've swapped caps between my ranger and my girl's s-10 before. Fit is a bit funny side to side, but its less than 1/2 inch. It works.

I think when we bought the Tonneau covers they were the same part # too.
