Interchangeable Front clips from 2003 t0 2004 Ranger

Im buying a 2004 ranger with a wrecked grill and bumper, will 2003 parts be interchangeable?

I don't remember the generation breaks. But if it looks the same it should fit. If you want to change enough, any years can fit

I believe that 2003 and 2004 should be a pretty easy swap. you *may* have to put all of the 2003 front end parts to make it work or look good, (ie both headlights, corner lights, header panel and grille, not just one headlight or mix/ match) and you *may* need to use the 2003 hood to match the grille and front end components. But the good news is, they should all bolt up without issues.

The bumper I think will work ok, but it is probably going to need the hood and headlights switched to make the grille work.

There is some disagreement about the breakdown of the generations after 98, but the 04+ front clip is a little different than the earlier ones.

Maybe we could get a sticky in EXTERIOR with pictures of different grills and front clips from year to year. Kinda like a quick reference guide to exteriors. And doors would probably change a little too, with the clips. As they say, if it looks the same, it should fit.

'04 Ranger received the "Super Duty" grill.

The quick answer, as per previous posters, is: No, you can't just swap grills. You also need to swap the hood and maybe a couple of the front valance pieces.

Bumper are probably close enough for practical purposes - there are more differences between options - XL, XLT, Sport, Edge, FX4, Tremor, most of which has with/without fog light sub options than between years; the lights are same.

98 - 00 are identical.
01 - 03 are identical - Compared with older trucks, the headlight/turn signals changed which change the valance and the grill. And there are more options for hoods i.e Edge
04 - 11 are identical. Super duty grill and matching hood. There are subtle differences - see bumpers but for the most part you can swap with no one being the wiser.

Here is a look at 3 different front clips. Notice the hood line at the top of the grill.
One is a '01, one is a '04, and I don't remember what the older one is.98 I think.
