Installing rear speakers

Just bought a 2006 Ranger XL supercab. The truck came with the stock AM/FM with two front door speakers. There are no rear speakers. We would like to install rear speakers and replace the current radio with either a better ford radio, or an aftermarket radio. My question is:

The wires from the main plug on the back of the radio... is it wired for rear speakers, in that the wires are there in the main harnes behind the radio, but just go to a point and stop? Or, did Ford use two different wiring harnesses; one with wires in it for the rear speakers, and one without?

If the wires are part of the main harness, but stop at a point, before continuing on to the rear, I would be able to tie new speaker wires into those. If not, I have to figure out a way to install speakers.

Thanks

In my truck they were there. If not its not that hard to run them down from the head unit to each side. If they are not there I would pull out the interior, clean the carpet and everything that comes out then run them down the pass side next to the tunnel and have them split at the back to each side. Of corse you don't have to pull everything to run them I would just do it because it kills two birds with one stone with just a little extra effort.

But the harness should already be there with ford connectors on the wires. From the trucks I have pulled apart in the bone yards the super cabs from 94+ only have one harness that went in. It's cheaper to stock one part with all the features rather then 2 or more with select features.

I am doing the same on my '03 Single Cab w/stock AM/FM factory radio. I'm looking for the rear speaker wires. If it only has the front wires I will just tap into the front. My question is, which wires in the plug on the back of the radio are speaker wires?
