Installed a new head unit tonight...

Pioneer Super Tuner III DEH-P4100UB. Ordered it from Crutchfield, man I gotta admit, if you're just replacing the factory unit with one that plays MP3/WMA/AAC (I buy all my music from Wal-Mart.com, it's ALL legal), Crutchfield is the way to go. You pick out the head unit, then tell them what kind of vehicle you have and they put together a no bullshit package that is a piece of cake to install.

At least 95% of the install took place sitting on my couch LOL. Took me about 45 minutes for the entire removal and install. It sure beats the old way of doing it.

does it skip with the pocket underneath? I always try and mount them above when I can so I get 3 solid points of contact on the HU.

You gotta like a deck that is not cluttered with buttons and knobs - looks so much better!
