Input on undercoating please

I second that the oil once a year does the trick on most of the stuff around here. Im a Mechanic in Windsor(Detroit) we get tonnes of salt on our roads, im mean it is mined from our underground. my customers that oil guard even once, there cars are much easier to work on and overall cheaper to repair. I will advise anyone to spend the 60 bucks to have an oil spray.. if you cant pay go to a car wash put your car on ramps and bring a fertilzer sprayer... dilute the oil with something light (a little thinner i mean a little) and spray. its cheap and it truely works... peel off your interior door panels and spray down in the seam... your truck will love it

I want to buy some of this stuff ..... http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...~0477904P/Rubberized+Asphalt+Undercoating.jsp ..... and spray the whole underside of the truck. I'd also do the i-beams and radius arms and rear end.

And then along the rockers (along bottom edge of truck) and then my bumpers (because I want them black anyway).

Yeah? :icon_idea:

I don't wanna see any rust on my stuff. Ever. Period.

Here's what I did...sandblasted frame, coated with an epoxy primer...then painted the inside of the frame rails with YELLOW rust paint...so I could see what I'm doing under there...and then painted the outside blue (because I ran out of yellow)...then painted over that with the stuff from CTC...there are actually two kinds...and for the frame I used the more expensive stuff...I think the one in the pic is about $5 a can and the other stuff is about $9 per can...

Oh, btw...I painted the inside of my fenders and around the lip over the wheel wells with rubber gaurd...it looks awful, but idiots that like to bang your vehicle with shopping carts usually find something prettier to punch up...:)
