injector issue

Friends working on a later chevy suburban with a vortec 350(guessing late 90s). Will not start. Fuel pressure is fine. Replaced crank sensor and pickup. With a noid light during crank, light is VERY dim. Now, heres the odd part. If you spray ether, it will start right up and stay running. noid light tests normal at this point, and it will run perfect until shut off again. This ones got me.
anyone else got any ideas?

got it guys, nevermind. Weird problem. Fuel pressure was dropping off during crank, apparently if pressure doesnt hold injectors wont attempt to fire. On a whim changed fuel pump and problem resolved.
