Inherited an '89 Ranger in NC

Hey guys, my name is Blaine, and I'm a police officer in the Wilmington NC area. I inherited a 1989 Ford Ranger when my grandfather died, and I'm in the process of putting a little TLC into it to get it back into decent shape. My most pressing concerns are getting a new tailgate (the shell has rusted through on the bottom), and a working A/C compressor.

Also, I know slightly more about working on vehicles than your average houseplant does, so put on your kid gloves with me. lol

yes, pics are great. for parts, check craigslist or see if you can find a salvage yard down there. i havent been to wilmington in a while, so i dont remember where any might be. seems like there's one out on 17, but i cant remember.
