That is just outrageously neat. Pure work of art !!! :icon_thumby:

That frame is built like garbage.

I know absolutely nothing about welding, and I realize that your a pro...
Whats wrong with the frame ?
Question not meant in a derogatory way.....just wondering what you see as a pro that I/we don't.

Curious as well. As someone planning on building my truck to handle corners, builds like this are what I was looking for and that frame looks great for that. Definitely better than a factory truck frame.

To me it looks heavy... there is a shit load of square tube.

But for a guy in his garage building himself a race truck that would be a hoot to drive... I'm not seeing garbage... I see persistence and determination.

He says his end goal is 2650 lbs. I have no clue what the weight of these trucks are factory but 2650 isnt much more than the FRS I have, and that car handles like a dream.

Well it sounds like he has an end goal... probably has a rule book to follow also...

We always bought chassis for the vehicles we built... it's an art form. I will say the transmission crossmember looks a bit cheesy... but I'd drive the snot out of it.

Beautiful, will be a blast to drive.

Nothing to do with welding, it just looks like there was no planning. There's just square tubing everywhere in a million directions and hacked up in many spots for clearance. It's like a rube goldberg design.

He could have built a chassis twice as strong and half the weight. He went way overboard where he didn’t need to. Don’t get me wrong, it will work, but so would machining a spot for the drivetrain out of a solid block of steel.

He may have some rules to follow regarding the design. He is building it for particular classes of racing. I can't speak to the design of it but the fact that someone is building an easily modified chassis for racing is exciting for someone with goals like mine. Its just exciting. Once its all together and setup to handle itll be a pretty sweet thing to watch that truck tear up corners
