I have an '84. I have removed the computer and all the wiring ( harness ) associated with it. Included in that harness is the AC and ALT wiring. Has anyone tackled this before? Anyone done the leg work on how to hook the AC and ALT back up?

When I did mine I did not remove the wiring associated with the alternator. Don't have a/c so don't know.

Well each can be figured out, just wanted to see if anyone had done it. If you removed the harness to the computer, the AC and ALT wiring was in it . . so not sure how you did it??

my 83 has the dura spark module in it with a vac advanced dist.but has a carb with a solenoid on it.and i would like to get rid of the computer as well.so i will keep watching.

I figured it out. See, when I pulled the harness for the computer, I pulled it in its entirity. The AC and ALT is wrapped with it. But once I laid it out, checked the schematics and such, I was able to figure out what was needed. So if anyone else has a question, I have the answers :) Actually, no one should be scared of this conversion, especially with some wiring experience. I have done a lot of wiring, building harnesses to wiring modifications. But this conversion isn't difficult, once you get rid of what isn't needed. But an average DIYer should be able to do this. I have taken my engine back to the mid seventies :) No air pump, electronic ignition, regular carburetor . . I redid the heads, replaced all things externally associated with the engine function ( fuel pump, water pump , alt, etc ). I'm getting ready to have this thing running :)

All I did was seperate all the wires and vacuum lines by removing the tape and if they went to the alternater they stayed and if not they found a new home on my work bench. That was five or six years ago so I can probably throw them on the floor now.
